Poets Rising To Host Poetry Circle

To celebrate National Poetry Month, the Poets Rising Group, which meets regularly in Hampton Bays, will host a Poetry Celebration Circle on Saturday, April 12, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Hampton Bays Public Library. Facilitated by Beverly Livernoche, the group meets the second Saturday of the month at the library. At every session, poets are invited to read their own poetry, one by a favorite poet, or just listen to others read theirs. All are welcome. Robert Noll of Southampton died peacefully on March 20. He was 93. He was born on July 25, 1931. “Pop,” as he was called by his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many friends was a man who valued family and friends above all else, his family said. He welcomed all to his home and enjoyed seeing everyone enjoying the fruits of his labor. The more the merrier, he would say. Southampton Police Reports for the Week of March 27

QUOGUE — On March 22 at 9:15 p.m. Cristian Valdespino Castro, 23, of East Quogue was arrested by Quogue Police and charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, a misdemeanor, and cited for an equipment violation. Police said they pulled her over after seeing her driving on Dune Road with an inoperable license plate lamp. During the traffic stop, an investigation revealed that she was driving while under the influence of drugs, police said. Police did not specify which drug or drugs.
