Who's the Zombie?

My heart goes out to Carlos Sandoval, always representing some segment of the depressed opposition. I hope to confirm with this response that I feel his special pain. In “We Are the Living Dead,” his recent column [“Vistas,” Opinion, March 27], he laments America being destroyed at the hands of the dreaded four-lettered red caps and their duly elected president. He even alludes to imagining “flying monkeys” coming for our benefits. His imagery (or nightmare) extends to a pot of water he finds himself in, as a Democrat, being slowly boiled by the Trump administration. The best might be: “They ... 31 Mar 2025 by Staff Writer

Compare Shares

I write as a reminder of a letter I wrote several years ago when the real estate market wasn’t on fire. If you are interested in a co-op, examine the plan for maintenance increases, that they have been equitable: Flat increases advantage some shareholders and disadvantage others. If maintenance increases have been 5 percent, the unit you are considering holds 3.5 percent and another holds 7 percent, your unit is overpaying by 15 percent, while theirs is underpaying by 20 percent over 10 increases. Also, compare your percent of shares: Is the shareholder with 7 percent of the shares equal ... by Staff Writer

Robert Noll of Southampton Dies March 20

Robert Noll of Southampton died peacefully on March 20. He was 93. He was born on July 25, 1931. “Pop,” as he was called by his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many friends was a man who valued family and friends above all else, his family said. He welcomed all to his home and enjoyed seeing everyone enjoying the fruits of his labor. The more the merrier, he would say. People may recall seeing him and his wife, Florence “Meem” Noll, dancing to the music at the concerts in the park or at Meschutt Beach over many years. He labored hard much ... by Staff Writer
