The Sag Harbor Historical Museum was awarded a $10,000 grant to restore headstones in Sag Harbor’s Old Burying Ground on Union Street. The grant was from the Robert David Lion Gardiner Foundation, which supports projects that highlight New York history. The group of headstones to be repaired were severely damaged in the Hurricane of 1938 and have remained broken in multiple pieces and partially buried in the ground since that time. The East End Classic Boat Society’s raffle boat has been won by an East Setauket woman who wanted to help the group’s efforts teaching school children about boat building.
