After Wednesday, July 31, the parking lot of Chabad of the Hamptons, an Orthodox synagogue in East Hampton, will be covered in colorful street art focusing on messages of positivity and kindness.

Chabad of the Hamptons’ inaugural event “Let’s Chalk Kindness” is inviting children ages 4 through 12 and their families to collaborate on a large neighborhood mural and a “Wall of Kindness,” which will be complete with themes of helping others and “cultivating goodness.”

“Let’s Chalk Kindness combines creative visual arts with greater impact, engaging kids in a discussion of the things we can do together as a community to build a better world,” said Leiba Baumgarten, the event’s coordinator.

There will be a photo station, supplies and exploding chalk-bombs to encourage creativity in the creation of these murals. Ms. Baumgarten said that the chalk-bombs will “infuse their work with Pollock-style graphics.”

“It has been said that children are the greatest force for change in the world,” Ms. Baumgarten said. “To this end, it is essential to provide them with opportunities to discover and grow their impact while they are still young. The event will be an exciting way for these young minds—and hearts—to come together and learn what they can do right now to bring light into other people’s lives.”

Admission is $15 for each child, with a dinner included. More information is available at jewishhamptons.com. RSVP to 631-329-5800. The event will go from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31, at 13 Woods Lane, East Hampton.
