'Rock That Body' Filming To Take Place At Southampton Residence

author on Aug 22, 2016

Summer in the Hamptons has been featured in countless movies and television shows because of its gorgeous beaches, bright light, large houses and quiet, sophisticated aura, but this summer the Hamptons is poised to stand in as another setting, Miami Beach, as director Lucia Aniello shoots her new film, “Rock That Body.”

The Culver City, California, film company Tibernia Productions is currently setting up in the Southampton Shores residential community for the movie shoot. The primary filming location is 49 East Beach Drive, a sizable house at the end of the street overlooking Peconic Bay.

The filmmakers plan to be on location from August 15 through September 30 and that includes set up, filming and wrap up. A company representative said that Tibernia will begin filming on August 29 with the cast, which includes Scarlett Johansson, Kate McKinnon, Zoe Kravitz, Jillian Bell and Ilana Glazer, along with Paul W. Downs, who is also a co-writer and producer of the film.

Tibernia is parking film trucks and equipment trailers on the open field on 27 Straight Path, as well as on the North Sea Fireman’s Field on 130 Noyac Road. The company is also filming on the beach off Dune Road in East Quogue from September 14 through 16, according to its special event permit issued by the Town of Southampton.

The owner of the East Beach Drive house, Richard Rubens, has rented out the residence for shoots in the past, but never for a project of this magnitude. The movie is supposedly set at a beach house in Miami, according to its IMDb page, and this white 5,000-square-foot bayfront house—reachable by seaplane or boat—certainly looks like it would be found along Miami Beach.

This female-centric dramedy follows a group of five friends during a bachelorette party weekend when a stripper is found dead. It is scheduled to be released on June 23, 2017, going up against “Transformers: The Last Knight” on the same day.

Shooting is scheduled to run through September 20.
