Former

Joins Douglas Elliman

Douglas Elliman Real Estate announced last month that it has named Carl Benincasa—who worked as an assistant town attorney for Southampton Town from 2012 until recently—as its new regional vice president of sales for the Hamptons.

Douglas Elliman noted that, in his role with Southampton Town, Mr. Benincasa was responsible for the management of the real estate industry, particularly in the areas of planning and development. His experience as a partner with Scarola, Benincasa and Mouzakitas includes leading the law firm in the areas of acquisition and sales, zoning, financing, contract law and insurance issues relating to real estate.

Mr. Benincasa, an East End native who earned a degree in political science from George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and a law degree from St. John’s University in Queens, began his legal career as an assistant district attorney in New York City. Additionally, he holds a master’s degree in public administration from the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University in Manhattan.

According to Douglas Elliman, as regional vice president of sales Mr. Benincasa will lead the South Fork team in “developing competitive strategies for the firm’s luxury residential and commercial markets, building upon its revenue growth and market share, and increasing Elliman’s considerable presence in the Hamptons.”

“We are thrilled to have Carl on the Elliman team,” said Scott Durkin, chief operating officer of Douglas Elliman, in a statement. “Extremely knowledgeable in land use, as well as the intricacies of the law as it relates to East End real estate, he brings his valuable perspective, insight, and appreciable abilities along with him. He will be a tremendous asset to our Hamptons operation.”
