It’s been pretty wild west of the Shinnecock Canal with a big burst of sales activity.
Winner of the highest price paid recently goes to 23 Shinnecock Road in Quogue, purchased by Alexia and Henry Fernandez for $9.5 million. The 8,988-square-foot residence has 11 bedrooms and 7.5 baths on a bountiful 3.4 acres. The 104-year-old Greek Revival mansion is credited as one of the final masterpieces of McKim, Mead and White architect Stanford White. The estate was once home to Eileen Ford, founder of Ford Models, Inc. Distinguished by a soaring double-height portico supported by Ionic columns, “Belle Meade,” as it is known, was featured in Martha Stewart’s iconic book “Weddings.” There is a formal fountain room, library, screened rotunda overlooking the manicured gardens, and groves of original specimen trees. There’s also an oak-paneled dining room with club-sized fireplace, paneled drawing room with carved mantel fireplace, country kitchen, and staff quarters. A heated pool and regulation tennis court add to the property’s modern amenities and summer enjoyment.
Two properties in Westhampton have been reported sold. One, 167 Dune Road, was asking $7.29 million. Built just two years ago, the residence is 3,900 square feet with five bedrooms and 6.5 baths on 0.7 acre. Amenities include two fireplaces and an in-ground pool. Down the street is 611 Dune Road, which had an ask at $6.59 million. A vaulted ceiling and in-ground pool are among the property’s amenities, and the dwelling is 5,069 square feet with six bedrooms, six full bathrooms, and two half-baths on a solid 1 acre.
Wait, there’s more! Justin and Maxine Korval are the new owners of 855 Dune Road in West Hampton Dunes, after paying $3,587,500. The house sits on 0.7 acre and is 4,000 square feet with six bedrooms and five baths. The oceanfront home also has three fireplaces, three decks, a heated in-ground pool, a hot tub, and a private walkway to the water.
In Westhampton Beach, 617 Dune Road has been purchased by Judy and Samuel Rosenberg for $3.49 million. With 100 feet of oceanfront, the property has a shingled, 3,000-square-foot post-modern, renovated manse. Features include an open living area with fireplace, dining area, new kitchen with stainless steel appliances, all new stone and marble bathrooms, new heating and air conditioning, and four bedrooms including two oceanside master suites with balconies. The new heated swimming pool, new deck and railings, private walkway to the beach, and right-of-way to the bay make this quite the appealing home.
