Surface water samples from Kellis Pond in Bridgehampton, Mill Creek in Water Mill and Old Town Pond in Southampton taken by SUNY Stony Brook water monitors were found to contain blue-green algae blooms, Suffolk County reported. Harmful algal blooms were also detected in Wainscott Pond in Wainscott and in Lake Agawam in Southampton Village in late September, though blooms in those water bodies have been an issue for months, with tests approximately weekly yielding the same results.
