PROJECT CONTROLLER (CONSTRUCTION) --
Job Summary:
The Project Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring accuracy in job costing, AIA billing, budget monitoring, and WIP reporting. This role also involves maintaining financial records, processing accounts payable, and ensuring compliance with company policies. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience in construction accounting .
Key Responsibilities:
• Accounts Payable: Process invoices, manage vendor payments, and reconcile accounts.
• Job Costing: Track and analyze project costs to ensure accuracy and budget alignment.
• AIA Billing: Prepare and submit AIA payment applications in compliance with contract terms.
• WIP Reporting: Maintain and update work-in-progress (WIP) schedules to track project financial status.
• Budgeting & Scheduling: Assist in preparing and monitoring project budgets, tracking variances, and issuing change orders as needed.
• Financial Reporting: Generate financial reports and coordinate with external CPA firms.
• Compliance & Documentation: Ensure adherence to company policies, including subcontractor agreements, lien releases, and insurance requirements.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting or financial management, preferably in construction.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Experience with construction software such as ComputerEase, Sage/Timberline, or Procore.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Knowledge of AIA billing, WIP reporting, and job costing principles.
