Jason Manigault, 20, of Middle Island, was arrested after a multi-car crash that closed County Road 39, bringing movement to a standstill from around 10:30 a.m. until after 3 on the afternoon of November 9.
Southampton Town Police say he was driving while impaired by drugs and traveling east at a high speed when his Nissan crossed over into the westbound lane striking a 1995 tractor-trailer. The Nissan went back into the eastbound lane and hit a 2021 dump truck and a 2011 Audi. Manigault was the only person injured in the crash. He was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries. He’s charged with misdemeanor driving while impaired by drugs.
The eastbound lane of County Road 39 has reopened. The westbound lane is still closed, according to Southampton Town Police.
County Road 39 was closed at Tuckahoe Road in Tuckahoe after a multi-car accident on Wednesday morning, November 9.
Southampton Town Police closed the road at 10:42 a.m., describing the accident as “not serious.”
