Ahead of their Sag Harbor American Music Festival appearance, The Belle Curves’ new single, “Private Oceans,” drops September 29.

Towing the line between folk-rock and power-pop, The Belle Curves, led by Delaney Haefner, a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who makes the unique claim of being both the frontwoman and bassist of her own band, have been making a name for themselves with a unique blend of energetic roots music since 2019. The new single, “Private Oceans,” is the band’s first single since the 2022 release of the full-length album “Watershed.” The song is about learning to trust oneself to take leaps of faith and finding the spaces where one can thrive.

According to Hafener, who also works as a producer at WLIW-FM, the song draws on Laurel Canyon icons like Jackson Browne as much as it does modern indie-rockers Wilco and Big Thief.

The Belle Curves is Hafener’s artist project (the primary vehicle for her songwriting and musical vision) supported by a collaborative group of musicians who help bring that vision to life.

“I can’t wait to bring my full band to this festival,” Hafener said. “It’s been on my bucket list for years and I’m stoked to be on a lineup with artists like the visionary Amethyst Kiah and local legend Nancy Atlas.”

The Belle Curves’ music can be found on all major streaming platforms. The Belle Curves will be performing at the Sag Harbor American Music Festival on Saturday, September 30, at 1 p.m. at Ryland’s Green, where Main Street meets Madison Street.
