The Southampton High School Outing Club recently sponsored an annual ski trip to Smugglers Notch, Vermont, where 40 students and seven chaperones enjoyed skiing and snowboarding. Westhampton Beach Elementary School students made predictions on which team would win Super Bowl LVIII through its annual Souper Bowl fundraiser. By using donations of nonperishable goods they voted for the team they thought would win this year’s Super Bowl by placing them in a team bin. The final tally indicated that 139 students guessed the San Francisco 49ers would win and 159 thought the Kansas City Chiefs would take home the title. As part of a lesson on friendly letter writing and memory stories, Westhampton Beach second grade students in Stella Boscia’s class wrote letters to author Patricia Polacco. Prior to writing their letters, the students read Polacco’s book “When Lightning Comes in a Jar.” The students’ letters asked the author about her book and if it reflected her own memories. members of the Hampton Bays Elementary School service organization K-Kids recently donated $250 to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, the proceeds from a fundraiser. They raised the funds by selling emoji keychains to fellow students, teachers and administrators.
