On April 21, 2016, the world lost one of the most profound musical artists of our time: Prince Rogers Nelson. On Saturday, March 23, at 8 p.m., Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor will present a live concert performance, “Kissed by a Prince” to pay tribute to the musician.

Since his 1978 debut album, “For You,” Prince’s music has filled the airwaves with raw musical emotion. “Kissed by a Prince” is a collaborative effort spearheaded by an all-star lineup of local musicians led by vocalist Dawnette Darden of The HooDoo Loungers, guitarist Mike Mazzaraco, bassist Klyph Black, drummer Ellis Holmes III, keyboardist Sean Willis, and percussionist Bopa King Carré.

“All of the performers have been inspired by, and have performed Prince’s music for decades,” said Mazzaraco. “We are honored to have the opportunity to pay tribute to this musical great.”

Tickets are $37 in advance ($47 on the day of the show) at baystreet.org or 631-725-9500. Bay Street Theater is on Long Wharf in Sag Harbor.

Painterly Processes With Silkscreen

From commercial designs to fine art editions, the applications of silkscreen printing are vast. Traditionally a stencil-based process, silkscreen can allow for a design or composition to be reprinted indefinitely as an artist’s edition, or by varying color, placement and materials, can produce monoprints with uniquely experimental results. On Wednesday and Thursday, September 25 and 26, from noon to 4 p.m., The Church will host “Painterly Processes With Silkscreen,” a workshop led by artist Susan Bachemin that offers an introduction to the process while also exploring the medium from an artistic perspective.
