The work of artist Steve Alpert will be featured in “Local Colors,” a show running Saturday, May 18, to Sunday, June 16, at Art Studio Hamptons Gallery in Westhampton Beach. The exhibit will open with a reception on Saturday, May 25, from 4 to 6 p.m.

Alpert is a painter who has worked in landscape, portraiture, abstract and has created paintings that honor the men and women who serve in the U.S. Armed Forces. His work is part of the collections at The Pentagon, Naval War College Museum, Museum of the United States Marines, and the Air Mobility Command Museum. Alpert’s work has raised close to $500,000 for organizations that assist veterans and their families. His work has been in galleries and art fairs all over the U.S. He has been nominated by the Congressional Medal of Honor Society’s Distinguished Citizen Award.
