Caroline B. Boutcher of Southampton Dies May 10

Caroline B. Boutcher (Carol) of Towd Point, Southampton, died peacefully on May 10 at the Hampton Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing, surrounded by family and close friends. She was 93.

She was born in New Hyde Park and worked most of her life as a bookkeeper at Southampton Hospital and then at the Southampton Lumber Company.

In the 1960s and early ’70s, she enjoyed volunteering as an EMT for the Sag Harbor Village Ambulance and the Southampton Town Ambulance. She was also a member of the North Sea Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary for more than 50 years.

She retired in the late 1970s and enjoyed being with her family and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband Fredrick Boutcher; son Donald Jacobs; sister Gloria Popielarski; and brother Teddy Baranowski. She is survived by her son Wayne Jacobs (Claudia); stepdaughter Carol Kluge (Carl, deceased); stepson Glenn Martin (Dorothea); stepson David Martin (Karen); 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a celebration of her life on Sunday, June 23, at 11 a.m. at the North Sea Fire Department on Noyac Road.
