The North Fork TV Festival will present Academy Award- and Tony Award-winning actress Marcia Gay Harden with this year’s Canopy Award. A formal ceremony will be held on Wednesday, August 28, at The Halyard at the Sound View Greenport. The 9th annual North Fork TV Festival will take place Tuesday, August 27, and Wednesday, August 28, in Greenport.

“We are absolutely thrilled to present the Canopy Award to the immensely talented Academy Award-winning actress Marcia Gay Harden,” said Noah Doyle, founder of the North Fork TV Festival. “Her extraordinary contributions to the world of film and television embody the spirit of excellence we celebrate at the North Fork TV Festival. We couldn’t be more excited to honor her achievements and welcome her to our festival this year.”

The Canopy Award honors a member of the New York television community. The winner’s persistence and integrity, bound by the twin spirits of independence and collaboration, stoke the creative ambitions of diverse people who have important stories to tell. The ceremony will feature a conversation between Harden and Variety’s senior business writer, TV and video games Jennifer Maas, with an audience Q&A to follow.

Harden’s critically lauded performances are myriad, — from glamorous Ava Gardner in ‘Sinatra,” to artist Lee Krasner in “Pollock” (winning an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress), to the down-and-out Celeste in “Mystic River” (Oscar-nominated in the same category). She can most recently be seen opposite Skylar Astin in the hit CBS dramedy “So Help Me Todd.” She could recently be seen starring in the Michael Keaton helmed thriller, “Knox Goes Away,” opposite Al Pacino and theatrically released this past March, as well as seen reprising her Emmy-nominated role on the latest season of the critically-acclaimed drama “The Morning Show” on AppleTV+ opposite Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon.

The two-day festival will feature special screenings and in-depth panels such as “How Do You Cast a TV Series” with casting director Jessica Daniels, and moderated by actor Max Jenkins.

Festival passes and individual tickets are available at northfork.tv/tickets.
