LTV Studios and the East End Underground Live Concert Series will present “Winter in the Hamptons: A Musical Trifecta” on Saturday, February 22, at 7 p.m. The evening will feature local music, singing, dancing and refreshments with a line-up of East End bands including Astro-Nauto, Two 90s Kids and Whale/Heart.
On stage performing as a one man band (more specifically in a band with one human and several robots) with a guitar, analog synth and a ton of pedals setup or in the studio recording most of the instruments himself, John T. Velsor created the group Astro-Nauto as an inventive way to capture simultaneously the intimacy of a solo performer and the energy of a band.
Astro-Nauto seamlessly blends strong soul-bearing folk sensibilities with space-y synths that sound plucked from Jupiter. The result is dynamic songs that swell and breathe but feel sincerely introspective — edging toward the stratosphere but never truly leaving Earth.
Conan and Jody are Two 90s Kids. One came of age in the 1990s and the other looked up to the high school kids. Will they play originals? Will they play covers? As long as it’s grunge and as long as it’s indie-rock, does it even matter? Come join them as they rock the house garage rock style.
Subterranean basement rockers Whale/Heart serve up sonic walls of melody, warped jazz sounds and twisting spaced out jams. Whale/Heart is Chris Clark (vox/guitar), Matt Orlando (vox/guitar), Devlin Webb (bass), Jack Marshall (keys) and Kevin Foran (drums).
Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door and $15 for seniors and students. For more details and tickets, visit ltveh.org. LTV Studios is at 75 Industrial Road in Wainscott.
