The Suffolk presents “Commotion — A Tribute to the Music of Creedence Clearwater Revival” on Thursday, February 6, at 8 p.m.

The musicians of Commotion pride themselves on unparalleled attention to detail and commitment to faithfully reproducing the iconic Creedence Clearwater Revival sound. Commotion’s setlist is a roller-coaster ride through CCR’s greatest hits — from the swampy grooves of “Green River” to the poignant balladry of “Have You Ever Seen the Rain” and the foot-stomping frenzy of “Bad Moon Rising.”

Lead singer Steve McLain possesses a vocal prowess that rivals John Fogerty. With his husky timbre, emotive delivery, and uncanny ability to recreate the raw energy of Fogerty, audiences are transported back to the era where CCR ruled the airwaves.

Guitarist Jimmy Ryan is a platinum-selling musician with a Hall of Fame Lifetime Achievement Award, having recorded and performed with Carly Simon, Paul McCartney, Elton John, Mick Jagger, Cat Stevens, James Taylor, Rod Stewart, Jim Croce and many more.

Drummer and multi-instrumentalist Mark Ellis has worked as a staff writer for Atlanta Artist Records, a recording artist with EMI Electrola as a member of DaVibe, and has toured extensively with the Chicago tribute band The KC Transit Authority.

George Foster’s bass groove has traveled between stages and studios large and small since the 1970s playing blues, country, reggae, world, jazz, folk, pop and rock.

Tickets for “Commotion — A Tribute to the Music of Creedence Clearwater Revival” are $25 to $49 at thesuffolk.org. The Suffolk is at 118 East Main Street in Riverhead.
