Following the success of its 2022 summer pop-up in East Hampton, art book publisher TASCHEN has returned to East Hampton to partner with Guild Hall.
Coinciding with the opening of Guild Hall’s summer exhibition “Julian Schnabel: Selected Works From Home,” on August 3, TASCHEN has transformed a section of the historic museum into a fully operational pop-up shop. It features several of Julian Schnabel’s projects with TASCHEN, including an exclusive collection of hand-painted skateboards by the artist, available to U.S. collectors for the first time. The pop-up will also showcase limited edition book projects with contemporaries such as Annie Leibovitz and David Hockney, alongside a curated selection of TASCHEN’s most celebrated art books, including “Jean-Michel Basquiat, New York. Portrait of a City” and “Peter Beard.”
To celebrate the opening, TASCHEN and Guild Hall hosted a public book signing of Julian Schnabel’s new retrospective monograph, “Julian Schnabel” on August 3, following a conversation with the artist.
TASCHEN is known for its striking and bold coffee table books, covering topics from architecture and art to fashion, photography, pop culture and travel. Collaborating with acclaimed creative partners, the company has published thousands of titles in dozens of languages.
The TASCHEN Pop-Up at Guild Hall will be open to the public through the length of the Schnabel exhibit, October 27. Hours are Wednesday to Sunday, noon to 5 p.m. and Friday, noon to 7 p.m. Guildhall is located at 158 Main Street in East Hampton. For details visit guildhall.org.
