Bay Street Plans Mardi Gras Celebration on March 1

Mardi Gras, the celebration that takes place every calendar year on the eve of Ash Wednesday, invites observers to overfill themselves with intoxicating libation and rich food in advance of the decidedly less exciting season of Lent, which follows immediately after.

Bay Street Theater will throw a Mardi Gras celebration on the night of Saturday, March 1. The night kicks off in the lobby of the theater with live singers starting at 7 p.m. The bar will be open, and King Cake and beignets will be served, and masks and beads will be provided.

At 8 p.m., the Paumanok Stompers, a Long Island band specializing in traditional New Orleans-style jazz, will play in the theater.

Brave Volunteers

On Friday, February 7, our family nearly lost our entire home due to a house fire. While the damage to our home and loss of much of our belongings is overwhelming, our situation could have been much worse.
