In celebration of the 10th anniversary of its Herzog & de Meuron-designed building in Water Mill, on Friday, November 11, at 6 p.m., Parrish Art Museum will host an Architecture Trivia Night — a fun, friendly competition for participants to test their knowledge of Parrish, national, and international building design. Hosted by Maziar Behrooz, Principal, MB Architecture, the event is for novices, enthusiasts and experts in the field, and open to teams of two to four players. Content is provided by professional architects and regional historians including Susan Horowitz, Director of Preservation Projects, Hamptons 20 Century Modern, and Behrooz.
The format is five rounds of 10 questions that cover the Parrish, Long Island, East End, international, modern and general architecture history and practice, from identification of famous structures to slightly more esoteric questions for architecture cognoscenti. The scoring judge has final decision on all questions. Gift baskets and prizes will be awarded to the runner up and winning teams ($200 and $300 value); and every participant receives a raffle ticket for a surprise giveaway.
Admission for spectators is $16 ($10 seniors, $5 seniors and AIA members) free for Parrish Members. Pub-style snacks will be available throughout the evening, with a $20 drink ticket, with beer, wine and beverages to purchase. One representative may register for each team of two to four participants — team names are encouraged. Registration is $10 to $20 per team for Parrish members ($30 to $60 for nonmember teams). Visit parrishart.org to register. The Parrish Art Museum is at 279 Montauk Highway, Water Mill.
