Food Talk at Canio’s Books in Sag Harbor

George Giannaris, owner and chef of the iconic Hellenic Snack Bar & Restaurant on the North Fork, is passionate about eating healthy. On Saturday, September 14, at 5 p.m., he comes to Canio’s Books to prepare a dish for his YouTube channel and discuss his books, “Ferry Tales I” and “Ferry Tales II.”

Giannaris has been a chef and restaurateur for more than 34 years. He has written two personal memoirs, and was named Suffolk Times Business Man of the Year in 2017. His YouTube cooking channel — "AwareHouseChef" — teaches viewers how to buy organic ingredients in bulk (online and at club warehouses) and use those ingredients in simple and easy recipes.

His short videos are filled with time-saving, professional kitchen techniques, geared towards the average home cook. Registration is requested for this program at 631-725-4926. Canio’s Books is at 290 Main Street, Sag Harbor.
