On Friday, October 8, a solo exhibit of Gabriele T. Raacke’s latest glass paintings and new line of unique original glass prints will go on view in “Glass Dreams,” a show at Ashawagh Hall in Springs.
The exhibit opens with a reception on Friday, October 8, from 5 to 8 p.m. The show will also be open Saturday and Sunday, October 9-10, from noon to 5 p.m., and Monday, October 11, from noon to 4 p.m.
“Glass Dreams” is Raacke’s first solo show since 2017, and will feature her latest glass paintings, including her dreamlike fairy-tale scenes as well as large abstract glass paintings.
“The characters and scenes I paint in my figurative work materialize the moment I start painting. They seem familiar, as if they had already appeared in a dream,” said Raacke, who grew up in a village at the edge of the Black Forest in Germany.
For the first time, the exhibit will also include glass prints of unique composites of her work.
“Through a new process which allows high quality printing of my work directly on the back of glass panels, I can now offer my collectors highly unique and more affordable reproductions of my work,” explains Raacke.
Ashawagh Hall is at 780 Springs Fireplace Road in East Hampton. Admission is free. For more information on Gabriele Raacke, visit Raacke.us.
