Fridays At Five 2022 Schedule

July 8: Kati Marton “The Chancellor: The Remarkable Odyssey Of Angela Merkel”

The captivating (The New York Times), definitive biography of German Chancellor Angela Merkel details the extraordinary rise and political brilliance of the most powerful — and elusive — woman in the world.

Kati Marton, an award-winning former NPR and ABC News correspondent, is the author of “Hidden Power: Presidential Marriages that Shaped Our History,” a New York Times bestseller, as well as “Wallenberg, The Polk Conspiracy, A Death in Jerusalem” and a novel, “An American Woman.”

July 15: Michael Clinton “Roar: Into The Second Half Of Your Life (Before It’s Too Late)”

Discover how to make the second half of your life happy and productive with this perceptive and inspiring guidebook that will help you achieve your dreams and get more out of life —whether or not retirement is in your future plans.

Michael Clinton is the former president and publishing director of Hearst Magazines and is currently the special media advisor to the CEO of the Hearst Corporation. His writing has appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Town and Country, O, the Oprah magazine, and other national media. Clinton is also the founder of Circle of Generosity, a nonprofit that grants random acts of kindness to those in need.

July 22: Fiona Davis “The Magnolia Palace: A Novel”

New York Times bestselling author of “The Lions of Fifth Avenue” returns with a tantalizing novel about the secrets, betrayal, and murder within one of New York City’s most impressive Gilded Age mansions.

Fiona Davis is The New York Times bestselling author of six historical fiction novels set in iconic New York City buildings, including “The Magnolia Palace,” “The Address” and “The Lions of Fifth Avenue,” which was a Good Morning America book club pick. Her novels have been chosen as One Book, One Community reads and her articles have appeared in publications like The Wall Street Journal and the Oprah magazine.

July 29: Bill Boggs “The Adventures Of Spike The Wonder Dog: As Told To Bill Boggs”

A very funny English bull terrier with a politically incorrect sense of humor and a heart of gold tells the story of his rise to fame on both his master’s TV talk show and social media, and the price he pays for that fame.

Bill Boggs is an Emmy Award-winning TV talk show host, producer, author, and professional speaker. His Off-Broadway play, “Talk Show Confidential” and novel “At First Sight” were optioned together for a screenplay inspired by his life. In 2008, HarperCollins published his well-received motivational book “Got What It Takes?” based on his interviews with highly successful people.

August 5: Huma Abedin “Both/And: A Life In Many Worlds”

In this beautifully written and propulsive memoir, Huma Abedin (Hillary Clinton’s famously private top aide and longtime adviser) emerges from the wings of American political history to take command of her own story.

Huma Abedin has spent her entire career in public service and national politics, beginning as an intern in First Lady Hillary Clinton’s office in 1996. After four years in the White House, she worked in the U.S. Senate as senior advisor to Senator Clinton and was traveling chief of staff for Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign. In 2009, she was appointed deputy chief of staff at the U.S. Department of State. Abedin served as vice chair of Hillary for America in 2016.

In “A Shoe Story” by Jane L. Rosen, a young woman has one month and a closet-full of shoes to discover the future she thought she’d lost in this captivating new novel from the author of “Eliza Starts a Rumor” and “Nine Women, One Dress.”

Jane L. Rosen is an author and Huffington Post contributor. She lives in New York City and on Fire Island with her husband and three daughters.
