Book Sale and Swap and Artists Open Studios — Free for All To Attend
Come peruse a selection of goods downstairs in the studio space. Art books and catalogues from past exhibitions at The Church, including the newly printed “Strike Fast Dance Lightly: Artists on Boxing” and “Yes, No, and WOW: The Push Pin Studios Revolution” will be on sale.
Do you have books to donate? Stop by the Book Swap table and make a trade — leave a book and take a book. The book swap will allow art lovers to bring their titles, exchange them with others. Remainders will be donated.

“The Power of Poetry: Verse 3 – I’m With the Banned”
The recurring community-driven poetry read-in returns for the next verse to explore poems and voices of those who have encountered resistance and censorship of expression. Gather to give voice to poets Gwendolyn Brooks, Amanda Gorman, Shel Silverstein, Walt Whitman and more. $10 (members free with RSVP).

“April’s Fool,” April Gornik discusses “Figures du Fou”
Join The Church co-founder Gornik for a richly illustrated virtual walk-through of the “Figures du Fou” (Figures of the Fool) exhibition that was on view at the Louvre Museum from October 16, 2024 to February 5, 2025. Diving deep into the multiple meanings and history of “the fool,” Gornik will explore the many meanings and context of fools. From sinners and saints to royal and common, the fool is everywhere — including in artists. $10 ($5 for members).

Sing “Happy Birthday,” kicking off The Church’s fourth twirl around the sun with celebration and community. Join Jaime Lopez and Coco Myers for advanced sales and signing of their book “Light, Sand, and Sea: Hamptons Artists and Their Studios.” The Church co-founder Eric Fischl will be on hand to sign copies of the publication, “Strike Fast Dance Lightly: Artists on Boxing” and Gornik will be available to sign “Yes, No, and WOW: The Push Pin Studios Revolution,” both of which will be available for purchase. Free for all to attend.
