Hope and Resilience Long Island (HARLI) will host a special fundraising performance of “The Vagina Monologues” on Sunday, March 9, at 2 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the South Fork Meeting House in Bridgehampton. The performance is a fundraiser to support victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking.
This moving and iconic production by Eve Ensler highlights the strength, struggles and resilience of women through a series of compelling and deeply personal monologues. The performance aims to raise awareness of gender-based violence while supporting HARLI’s mission to provide critical resources for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking on the East End. The dynamic lineup of local performers who will bring these monologues to life include: Adelaide Mestre, Crystal Carniero, Gianna Volpe, Jennifer Cuffee-Wilson, Lisa Votino, Lora Tucker, Ludmilla Benevides, Mbachi Kumwenda, Monika Zasada, Sandra Dunn and Velleda Ceccoli.
Adding to the afternoon’s celebration of empowerment, the event will feature a special musical performance by Rebel Elle, a mother-daughter duo composed of Dianne K. Le Verrier and Cali Jordan. Their music radiates feminine strength and light, embodying their unique definition of artistry. Rebel Elle’s performance will amplify the program’s themes of resilience, hope and feminine power.
The suggested donation for entry is $20, with all proceeds going directly to Hope and Resilience Long Island to support survivors in need. Due to the adult content, this show is for ages 16 and older. The UUCSF Meeting House is at 977 Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike, Bridgehampton.
