“The Mystery of Irma Vep,” the comedy cult-classic by Charles Ludlam, will stage at the barn at Mulford Farm in East Hampton from Wednesday, August 15, through Friday, August 31.
The show is a satirical farce, with two actors—Trevor Vaughn and Isaac Klein—playing all eight roles. Set in a manor house in England, Lord Edgar and the new mistress of the manor, Lady Enid, experience a variety of strange happenings after the death of the Lord’s first wife, Irma Vep. The action also includes a meddling maid, a swarthy swineherd and references to (and appearances by) vampires, ghosts, mummies and werewolves.
Sponsored by the East Hampton Historical Society, performances of the play will be held Wednesdays through Sundays, August 15 through August 26, and again on Thursday and Friday, August 30 and 31, at 7:30 p.m.
Seating is limited and reservations are strongly suggested. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door and can be purchased at TheaterMania by calling (866) 811-4111 or visiting TheaterMania.com.
