On Friday, February 21, from 6 to 8 p.m., join fellow typewriter enthusiasts at The Church for an evening of noise, fun and creativity. Grab a coffee or a tea from the concession stand and sit down to type like you’re in your favorite coffeehouse. Swap typewriter stories with those in attendance. Admire the typewriters people bring. Check out the typewriters in the show “Some of Tom’s Typewriters” featuring machines from the collection of actor Tom Hanks. Let the exhibition and community inspire your fingertips as they dance across the keys.
BYOT: Bring Your Own Typewriter — don’t have one? That’s okay! The Church will have a few on hand, courtesy of The East Hampton Star, for you to try. Or just bring a pen and notebook. Regardless of the writing medium, escape Wi-Fi distractions and digital screens for a bit and explore the creativity in possibility.
