The Church’s next Knowledge Friday event on November 4, at 6 p.m. will feature Marit Molin, an inspiring and hardworking community leader. Molin, a Water Mill resident, founder and executive director of Hamptons Community Outreach (HCO) and Hamptons Art Camp, is an advocate for families and children of varying socioeconomic backgrounds. She will speak on her passion for volunteer and social work, her on-going efforts through HCO and current and future projects that support the Shinnecock Reservation.

Under Molin’s leadership, HCO has provided support throughout the East End. The organization’s projects include raising funds to provide fresh produce and cooked meals to families suffering from the economic impacts of COVID-19, supporting struggling restaurants in danger of closing in 2020, delivering groceries and medical supplies to households in need, and renovating or repairing homes within the Shinnecock Reservation. For the past three years Molin has led a Girl Scout Troop on the Shinnecock Reservation, where she’s held meetings, planned activities and guided service projects to emphasize the importance of volunteering. For the past five years she has organized Hamptons Art Camp which provides a fun and creative educational environment for children from all backgrounds within the community. Molin has also raised funds for mental health initiatives, one of which pays social workers to provide therapy to individuals for free.

Tickets to Knowledge Friday with Marit Molin are $15 at thechurchsagharbor.org. The Church is located at 48 Madison Street in Sag Harbor.
