Local art notable to curate exhibit in UK

Dr. Jim Bennett, director of the University of Oxford’s Museum of History and Science, and Southampton’s Art Donovan and Donovan Design will present an exhibition of Steampunk art at the museum from October 2009 until February 2010.

As curator of the exhibit, Mr. Donovan has invited artists from the United States, Japan, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia to display an exclusive, contemporary collection of sculptural art and design, inspired by the inventions and authors of the Victorian era, and created solely for this exhibit.

Participating artists include Eric Freitas, Jos De Vink, Jesse Newhouse, Herr Doktor, Kris Kuski, I-Wei Huang, Tom Banwell, Datamancer, Dr. Grymm, Mad Uncle Cliff, Haruo Suekichi and Mr. Donovan.

Fourth Annual Creativity Conference at The Church

On Saturday, April 5, The Church will host its fourth annual Creativity Conference. The daylong event begins with coffee and breakfast for all attendees at 9:30 a.m. A lunch break will be offered from noon to 1 p.m. (lunch not included).
