Martin Sexton Plays at The Talkhouse

authorAnnette Hinkle on Aug 24, 2021

Acclaimed singer/songwriter Martin Sexton will release his new EP “2020 Vision” on September 10 It’s his first new release in six years since his critically acclaimed album “Mixtape of the Open Road.”

On Friday, August 21, at 7 p.m. Sexton will be performing at The Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett.

Sexton’s new EP is a four-song collection that snapshots moments of clarity during the past year and beyond. His new single “Calling On America” was released in early August, which features guest John Mayer on guitar.

“2020 Vision” is a poetically emotive pandemic scrapbook. In one song, he’s building a treehouse with his son. In another, he’s crossing America and seeing the beauty in people rising through adversity and loving each other. The recordings were tracked virtually during lockdown and produced by three-time Grammy-nominee John Alagia (John Mayer, Paul Simon, Lukas Nelson).
