Kick off HarborFest weekend on Friday, September 13, from 7:30 to 10 p.m. with one of Sag Harbor’s (and all of the Hamptons’) favorite musicians, Nancy Atlas, who will be throwing down in the historic Old Whalers’ (First Presbyterian) Church.

Atlas and her band perform annually at The Fireside Sessions shows (which sell out Bay Street Theater every Saturday in January) and she plays the Sag Harbor American Music Festival (coming up in late September). At the Old Whalers’ Church, Atlas and her band will perform with special guests.

For this special concert Atlas will be donating a portion of the net proceeds to the Sag Harbor Chamber of Commerce’s Save The HarborFest Whale fund. The beloved whale “decoy” used for the whaleboat races at HarborFest is in need of some repair. There will be Save The Whale merchandise for sale at the concert.

The Nancy Atlas band has opened for everyone under the sun (Crosby, Stills and Nash, Lucinda Williams, Jimmy Buffett, Paul Simon, Elvis Costello, and on and on and on) logging some serious street cred along the way. The band’s passionate live shows and legit songwriting have garnered them a very real, committed following that in turn has shattered house records at the top East End venues like the Stephen Talkhouse, The Surf Lodge and Bay Street Theater, to name a few.

Tickets are $50 to $70 at nancyatlasharborfest24.eventbrite.com. The Old Whalers’ (First Presbyterian) Church is at 44 Union Street in Sag Harbor.
