Inspired by the group’s successful performance at Walt Disney World in July, Our Fabulous Variety Show has themed its annual gala, The Guardians Gala, a fundraiser for the nonprofit to support its ongoing effort to make dance accessible to all. The Guardians Gala will take place on Saturday, September 24, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at LTV Studios, 75 Industrial Road in Wainscott.

The retro-inspired evening will feature music and dancing, food and drink, raffles, auctions, pop-up performances by the OFVS Crew, Danny Ximo of RaffaShow and more. OFVS will also be honoring pillars of the East End performing arts community — Jacqueline Gravina-Wohlleb, community program coordinator and teacher at Project Most and Michael Clark, the executive director of LTV Studios.

An online silent auction offering a VIP Golf Outing including lunch for four people at the exclusive Sebonack Golf Club in Southampton is currently open for bidding. All proceeds will support Our Fabulous Variety Show’s mission to make the performing arts accessible to everyone by offsetting the costs of performing arts classes and productions via scholarships, help fund workshops by guest teaching artists, and provide theater experiences for performers of all ages.

Tickets are $75 per person or $500 for a VIP table for six people. A limited number of tickets for the under 40 crowd are available for $40 per person and student tickets are available for $25. Tickets can be purchased at ourfabulousvarietyshow.org/tickets or by calling 631-507-4603. The online auction can be accessed through the Our Fabulous Variety Show website, ourfabulousvarietyshow.org.

Giving Thanks

We are thankful for the ocean, so near to us here on the South Fork, and the serenity of nature surrounding us. Every year, people make the voyage to the East End, often from more urban dwellings, precisely because even as the human population encroaches more and more, there is a stubborn stillness surrounding us that is rejuvenating. The towns’ willingness to preserve open space and to prioritize environmental conservation shines through, even as the crush of development soldiers on. We give thanks that, to quote Van Morrison, this is a place where you can still “become enraptured by the ... by Editorial Board
