Direct from a sold out Off Broadway run, Anne Marilyn Lucas’s comedy “Party?” is coming to LTV Studios for two performances, on Monday, July 8, and Tuesday, July 9, with curtain at 7:30 p.m. both nights. Ezra Barnes will direct the show. The LTV performances are a benefit for the Ellen Hermanson Foundation to support breast cancer research.

Described as “A Doll’s House meets Neil Simon,” “Party?” offers a fresh look at the institution of marriage. It mixes fast-paced humor and vulnerability to examine the tangled relationships of three generations in one family. With the six cast members broken down into three couples representing three generations, the characters’ takeaways run the gamut from a marriage-is-permanent-no-matter-what view, to one in which marriage might involve multiple partners.

The ensemble cast features Audrey Heffernan Meyer and Jordan Lage as Diana and Aaron Katzman, the play's middle age couple, struggling with balancing their individual needs and making their marriage work. Pamela Shaw plays Esther Katzman, an all-knowing wife, mother and grandmother and veteran actor Alan Ceppos, takes on the complex role of Felix — a husband, father and grandfather with secrets. Rounding out the multi-generational cast are Molly Chiffer as Caitlyn, a modern woman with feminist ideas, who is engaged to Jason Katzman, played by Brian Mason, who is not sure if he is comfortable with the kind of marriage Caitlyn has agreed to. Through sharp-witted dialogue, the three couples provide an entertaining view of relationships.

Playwright Anne Marilyn Lucas has written over 30 plays and musicals spanning 10 minutes to full length. Her work has been performed in New York City at Theater for the New City, The Museum of Jewish Heritage, Polaris and Theatre of Light, LES Festival. Her plays have also been produced throughout New England. She is on the board of Marblehead Little Theatre and Boston’s A.R.T.
