The Hamptons Celebrates Picasso
East End art lovers can join the popular International “Celebration Picasso, 1973-2023,” saluting the artist on the 50th anniversary of his death. Presented and curated by London based Shapero Modern, this is the largest display of important Picasso works ever assembled in the Hamptons. This exhibit will showcase a collection of 30+ important original works, lithographs and linocuts by the Spanish master, from the 1930s to the 1960s.
The Original Paintings of the “Saturday Evening Post” Covers (1908-1962) – A Tribute to Norman Rockwell
View some of the most iconic images in Americana. The Illustrated Gallery curates a world class display of the original artworks from 25 of the most impactful Saturday Evening Post covers, 18 of which are by artist Norman Rockwell. This exhibit showcases 40 magazine covers in all, painted by the leading illustrators of the 20th century including Rockwell, Christian Leyendecker, John Ford Clymer, Maxwell Parrish, and others.
Mostly Motherwell
Robert Motherwell (1915-1991) ranks among the most original and influential artists of his generation. As a leading abstract expressionist from the New York School, a term he coined, Motherwell was a prolific painter, printmaker, collagist, as well as a writer, editor, theorist and educator. This curated exhibit features a selection of paintings, works on paper and collages. Motherwell lived in East Hampton from 1944 to 1952, and was a leading figure in the East End artist community
Werner Drewes: Pioneering American Abstraction
This solo artist exhibit, curated by the William Havu Gallery, features artist, printmaker, and teacher Werner Drewes (1899-1985), one of the founding fathers of American Abstraction. He was one of the first artists to introduce concepts of the Bauhaus School in the US. He was greatly influenced by his friend and artistic mentor Wassily Kandinsky. From the 1930s to 1950s, Drewes was a major driving force in America’s new art developments from Bauhaus to modernism to abstract.
Gino Miles: The First 50 Years of Sculpting
Legendary Santa Fe sculptor Gino Miles (b. 1952) has been working with both monumental and small dimension sculptures since the 1970s. He is inspired by 20th century European masters Moore, Brancusi, Achipenko and Marini. Gino distills his love of the classical figure and objects found in nature, working his recognizable sparse and sleek contemporary language that emotes tranquility. His work has been a featured at major art fairs in the U.S. over the past 20 years.
Blue Chip Black Artists – Curated by Bill Hodges Gallery
Founded in 1979, this 44-year-old Black-owned gallery has long been a pioneer and champion of the African diaspora. As focused experts, they present an eye-opening museum-level exhibit featuring many of the leading African American Artists, from the mid-20th century to present.
Set in Stone, the Art of the Fossil
The “star” of this eye-opening display, is Max, an extremely rare 9+ ft fossil crocodile (Borealosuchus wilsoni). Doug Miller of Green River Stone continually pushes the boundaries of paleontology and art. This species was the apex predator of the famed Green River Formation, in southwestern Wyoming and Max the best ever discovered there. This amazing fossil mural display measures 49” x 90” x 2 ¾” deep, on Wenge wood frame, with hanging cleats, and weighs 333 pounds.

The British are Coming – Curated by Blond Contemporary
Showcasing “the best of British,” the Blond Contemporary presents two giants from the Modern British canon: David Hockney and Bridget Riley. This carefully curated booth brings together a selection of artworks by both artists from the beginnings of their career in the 1960s to the heights they have reached today.
Telling Funny Stories With Narrative Art
Philippe Labaune Gallery is a gallery specializing in high-end comical narrative art and illustration. On view will be the original illustrations made for several covers of The New Yorker magazine, by Anita Kuntz, Peter de Seve and Lorenzo Mattotti highlighting the longevity and timeless quality of three international artists.
HFAF Presents the Heroines of Abstract Expressionism
A subset of this popular museum tour comes to Southampton. Mary Gabriel’s landmark book, “Ninth Street Women,” comes to life in the lobby. These six women artists on display were sadly undervalued, underestimated, and overlooked in the 1950s New York School art scene. On display will be important and striking pieces by six women who were key members of this genre, from 1950-1960’s era: Elaine de Kooning, Helen Frankenthaler, Hedde Sterne, Audrey Flack, Lynne Drexler and Dusti Bonge.

Collecting Contemporary Cuban Art — Presented by Alex Rosenberg Fine Art
The gallery, in coordination with its affiliate, the American Friends of the Ludwig Foundation of Cuba nonprofit, curates a rare and “must-see” display of the most sought-after Cuban artists today. As a longtime proponent and supporter of Cuban artists, the gallery has insider access to the rising stars. These Cuban artists have received critical acclaim at art fairs, biennales and galleries. They include Belkis Ayon, Yoan Capote, Roberto Fabelo, Ever Fronseca, Manuel Mendive, and Esterio Segura.
The HFAF Artist-in-Residence Showcase – Booths 400-404/414-420, de Kooning Pavilion
While HFAF is a gallery driven show, a dozen booths on the eastern portion of the de Kooning Pavilion are devoted to un-affiliated, un-represented upcoming artists. This curated separate section showcases raw talent and energy, emerging artists from across the nation. It is an excellent spot to discover new up-and-comers. Only a small percentage of those artists that applied were selected to exhibit.
