On Tuesday, October 5, at 3 p.m., East Hampton Library hosts a virtual talk entitled “Lawrence of Arabia and his love of Classical Music,” a presentation featuring original recordings of his favorite composers and singers.
Speakers Martin Gething, Susan Vincent and Neill Child of the T.E. Lawrence Society will discuss the musicians and composers that T.E. Lawrence especially admired, and even talk about his favorite seat in the concert hall and why. There will be a discussion of the friendship between Lawrence of Arabia and Sir Edward Elgar, as well as an introduction to the gramophones and records T.E. Lawrence had in his home at Clouds Hill Dorset, with photos to accompany this information.
