The White Room Gallery will present “Fantastic Voyage,” an exhibition featuring Mital Patel, an internationally recognized nature and wildlife photographer who focuses on innate beauty in all its forms. The show opens November 29 and runs through January 12. An opening reception and holiday party will be held Saturday, December 14, from 5 to 7 p.m.

From architecture and landscapes to the creatures of the wild, Patel has a distinct passion for capturing the most remarkable elements of life through his visual representation of movement, emotion and mood. For the “Fantastic Voyage” exhibit, the gallery wanted to focus on the allure and fascination of his nature portraits, inviting the viewer to witness first-hand the captivating journey of the artist’s lens.

“In each of his pieces, Patel offers a way to view the world differently — to appreciate the places, animals and natural creations that are either overlooked or rarely seen,” said Andrea McCafferty and Kat O’Neill, owners of The White Room Gallery.

Also on view will be work by artist Daniel Hilpert in the gallery’s Black Room.

“In the pantheon of modern artistry, where the conveyor belts of innovation and tradition intertwine, Daniel Hilpert emerges as a champion of the impasto technique with an automotive twist,” said McCafferty and O’Neill. “His latest oeuvre, a series of dramatically textured vehicular paintings, brakes sharply at the intersection of high art and high octane. Hilpert, rather like a mechanic armed with a palette knife, reconstructs the sleek forms of classic cars with a roughness that is both visually arresting and delightfully irreverent.

“‘Fantastic Voyage’ is a marvelous way to look at life; past, present and future, and to celebrate art that invokes an appreciation for all the wonders of the world whether it be automotive or a nod to the ever-evolving spin of Mother Nature,” added McCafferty and O’Neill. ‘We pushed the opening out until December 14 to coincide with our holiday party as the theme seemed the perfect fit.”

Other artists with work on view at the gallery include John Francis Gallager, SQRA (aka Cedric Sequerra), Sylvie Perrin and Greg Lotus. The gallery’s permanent collection artists are Russell Young, Nelson De La Nuez, Markus Klinko, Craig Alan, Greg Lotus and Punk Me Tender.

The White Room Gallery is at 3 Railroad Avenue in East Hampton. Visit thewhiteroom.gallery for details.
