The Drawing Room in East Hampton will present “Nature Walk,” a two-person exhibition that presents pastels and watercolors by Mats Gustafson with jewelry and decorative objects by Ted Muehling. Encompassing the entire gallery, the immersive installation runs November 5 to December 23 and highlights affinities between the sensibilities of artists who both identify the natural world as a profound source of inspiration. With studio practices that draw upon memory, close observation and simplification, Gustafson and Muehling also share an abiding philosophy of restraint. Their mastery of their materials — from Muehling’s precious metals and gemstones to Gustafson’s pastels and watercolors — has garnered each of them international acclaim among collectors, curators and authors.
The Drawing Room is at 55 Main Street, East Hampton. For more information, visit drawingroom-gallery.com.
