The Suffolk presents rock and R&B megagroup The Hollywood Allstars on Friday, May 12, at 8 p.m. The Hollywood Allstars are the brainchild of Grammy-nominated songwriter, producer, keyboardist, and former Epic/CBS recording artist Steve Gaspár. This rock and R&B megagroup is made up of musicians that toured and recorded with some of the most legendary rock and R&B artists around such as The Rolling Stones, James Brown, Blood Sweat & Tears, Tower of Power, and The Blues Brothers among countless others. Together, they take audiences through a chronological journey of their careers, presenting their own arrangements of hits by the legendary artists they’ve worked alongside.

Beginning with songs from the Woodstock era, the show will feature Santana’s classic “Soul Sacrifice” and Joni Mitchell’s signature song “Woodstock.” Then they will travel through the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s featuring favorites from each era including The Rolling Stones’ “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” The Blues Brothers’ “Soul Man,” James Brown’s “Living in America,” Edgar Winter’s “Keep Playing That Rock and Roll” and the Don Henley ballad “The Heart of the Matter.” Seamlessly interspersed throughout the set are also four originals from The Hollywood Allstar’s new EP, “Field Of Grace.”

The band features: Tom Bowes, lead vocalist of Tower of Power for seven years who fronted Blood Sweat & Tears and The Bernie Williams Collective, a group begun by New York Yankee and jazz guitarist, Bernie Williams; Chevy Chevis, background vocalist for Beyonce, Chaka, Madonna, Arianna Grande, Adele, Jennifer Lopez and others; The Uptown Horns, an East Coast horn section that toured and/or recorded with The Rolling Stones, Joe Cocker, Bonnie Raitt, Robert Plant, The J. Geils Band, and more; Andy Abel, guitarist for Blood Sweat & Tears, Talking Heads and Chieli Minucci and Marion Meadows; Scott Spray, Grammy-nominated bassist and songwriter who recorded with the Johnny and Edgar Winter Groups; Tony Cintron, Grammy-nominated drummer for Dizzy Gillespie, Spyro Gyra, Ricky Martin and Joe Bonamassa; Eddie Torres, percussionist with Vickie Sue Robinson Band.

Tickets are $55 to $75 at thesuffolk.org. Suffolk Theater is at 118 East Main Street, Riverhead.
