Rites of Spring Music Festival will present “Sounds of Images,” a merging of music and the arts in collaboration with East End Arts Council on Friday, November 4, at 5 p.m.

Rainer Gross, a painter and visual artist, and Gene Pritsker, a composer, multimedia instrumentalist and guitarist, will offer an intimate art experience where audience members can listen to and experience music and visual art together. Conceived and curated by Rites of Spring Music Festival Artistic Director Paolo Bartolani with the goal of redefining boundaries, “Sounds of Images” is a live dialogue between the exhibiting artist and the soloist musician.

The 60-minute performance will merge live music and visual arts to explore the deep connection between the arts. Participating in “Sounds of Images” is a unique experience for audiences and artists. It is an intense exchange between artists who express their creative process in front of an audience welcomed into intimate spaces and who will have the opportunity to get to know and converse with the artists in an informal setting.

“Sounds of Images” will be held at East End Arts 11 West Gallery at 11 West Main Street in Riverhead (in the Peconic Crossing building). Tickets are $50 ($30 for members of Rites of Spring or East End Arts Council) free for ages 16 and under. For details, visit ritesmusic.org.
