EAST HAMPTON VILLAGE — In the process of transporting a patient from Montauk to Stony Brook Southampton Hospital, Friday afternoon, the ambulance crew notified police that someone was tailgating them in another vehicle. Police pulled over the vehicle in question, they said, on Woods Lane, a 1986 Chevrolet Corvette. The driver of the Corvette explained to police that he was the husband of the woman in the Montauk ambulance. The driver apologized for what he had done and stated he was concerned for his wife. Jean C. Ruiz Guaman, 22, of Hampton Bays, was arrested by East Hampton Town Police on a misdemeanor DWI charge a little before midnight on November 4. For Ruiz Guaman, it is the third time he has been charged with misdemeanor DWI in a little more than a year. He already has an open charge of misdemeanor DWI in East Hampton Town Justice Court, stemming from an arrest last year, as well as an open case of misdemeanor DWI charged by Southampton Town Police in March of this year. SAG HARBOR VILLAGE — The reported grand larceny of a Mercedes-Benz on September 13 from an auto repair shop on Hampton Street ultimately led to an arrest warrant being issued for Michael A. Rodriguez, 20, of East Hampton on a misdemeanor charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. The arrest warrant was issued by Sag Harbor Village Justice Carl Irace on October 18 after a monthlong investigation by Village Police into the disappearance of the Mercedes-Benz.
