The Children’s Museum of the East End will host a “Moana” sing-a-long movie night on Monday, February 17, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The evening will feature crafts, pizza and a special viewing of “Moana” in the indoor gym. Children are encouraged to wear their coziest pajamas while they dance and sing to their favorite hits. The event is open for kids ages 2 to 8 years and costs $10 for members and $15 for nonmembers. A Weekend of 'Be Love' in East Hampton

The Greater East Hampton Chamber of Commerce has organized a celebratory weekend called “Be Love” featuring businesses through the town of East Hampton offering specials, promotions and events. Count the Birds at Montauk Library

The Montauk Library invites all its patrons to participate in the Great Backyard Bird Count, a community science project hosted by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and the National Audubon Society. Interested birdwatchers will meet at the library at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 15, and watch the library’s feeders, then proceed around the library grounds. The family-friendly program is open to beginner birders. Participants will learn to identify birds common to Montauk and help count the various species that visit the library’s feeders and sanctuary garden. The Society of Professional Journalists is accepting entires for its 2025 high school essay contest. The topic for applicants is “What is the biggest challenge journalists face today, and how might they overcome it?” The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, February 19. The East Hampton Food Pantry is running a “Spread the Love Food Drive” online event this month in which donors can purchase targeted items to help those dealing with foot insecurity.
