Andrew A. Weiss
Andrew A. Weiss died in Riverhead on July 25. He was 63.
Born on September 10, 1948, in New York City, he graduated from East Hampton High School and began his passion for architecture by earning a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the New York Institute of Technology. He worked on the East End for more than 30 years, and was responsible for numerous projects both commercial and residential. In 2011 and 2012, he was elected president of AIA Peconic, helping bring together a community of local architects. Survivors remember him as a passionate architect, as a loving and adoring father, being a regular at local coffee shops and as a die hard Yankee fan.
Mr. Weiss is survived by two sisters, Nancy Weiss and Mariana Rilleau; and his only daughter, Molly Morgan Weiss.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 5, at 5:30 p.m. at Peters Pond Beach in Sagaponack. Memorial donations may be made to Habitat for Humanity, at www.habitatsuffolk.org, as Mr. Weiss felt strongly about creating affordable home ownership opportunities for families in need.
