Roadside litter is not only an eyesore but also an environmental threat. By now, most people are aware that plastic litter breaks down into smaller and smaller pieces and has been found throughout the globe at every trophic level and in our own bodies.
“No-Fling Spring,” sponsored by the East Hampton Litter Action Committee, is a chance to do your part to reduce the amount of litter in our town.
Please join us for a litter pick-up kickoff event on Saturday, March 22, from 10 a.m. to noon. We’re meeting at the pavilion at Maidstone Park in Springs. All equipment will be provided, so just come with friends and high spirits. Light refreshments will be provided, courtesy of Maidstone Market & Deli.
“No-Fling Spring” will continue through April 6, so if you can’t make the kickoff event, please organize your own community cleanup, or just get together with a neighbor and start picking up along your own street. Together, we can make a difference.
