Cynthia Carr Sidorowicz

Cynthia Carr Sidorowicz of Southampton died of pancreatic cancer at her home on Saturday, January 28, with her husband by her side. She was 50.

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on October 8, 1961 to Barbara Ciocco and Thomas E. Carr, she attended Good Shepherd Catholic School and later moved to the Long Beach Island, New Jersey area. She graduated in 1979 from Southern Regional High School in Manahawkin, New Jersey.

Ms. Sidorowicz’s retail career started with Breezin’ Up. She opened numerous Breezin’ Up stores along the East Coast from Key West to Nantucket. She eventually settled in Southampton, where she became a
familiar face for over 20 years as the manager of both East Hampton and Southampton stores.

“She will be missed in both villages,” survivors said. “She put her heart and soul into Breezin’ Up.”

She remained true to her Philadelphia roots as an avid Eagles, Phillies and Flyers fan. She was kind, generous, quick to laugh and will be remembered for her upbeat personality and great sense of humor, survivors said. Her work, her family, her faith and her husband Joe were what her life was about, and the beach was her favorite place to be. Ms. Sidorowicz had such “a rich life and she showed so many people that greatness comes from who we are
rather than what we have, and that is it about what we give rather than what we get. We are all so lucky for her gift,” family said.

She is survived by her husband Joseph Sidorowicz; her mother, Barbara Ciocco of Florida; and her brother, Thomas Carr Jr. of New Jersey.

A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 3, at 10 a.m., at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Roman Catholic Church in Southampton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to East End Hospice, P.O. Box
1048, Westhampton Beach, NY 11978.

Breezin’ Up will be launching
a line of clothing dedicated in Ms. Sidorowicz’s memory.
Proceeds will go to various
charities for the research of
pancreatic cancer. All Breezin’ Up Stores across the East
Coast will carry this special
line of clothing starting this spring.
