Danny DeBoard
Danny DeBoard of East Hampton died at Southampton Hospital on Tuesday, June 14, after a short illness. He was 67.
Born on January 13, 1944, to Sam and Evelyn DeBoard of East Hampton, he attended East Hampton School District and continued his life as a free spirit, survivors said. He joined the American Legion Post 419 and it became his passion.
He was always available to help in any way possible, often cooking and bartending. He would host a large pig roast every year and invite his numerous friends and family. He loved his family, friends and community and especially his Legion family.
At the time of his death, Mr. DeBoard was employed by the East Hampton Town Parks Department.
He is survived by his siblings, LeRoy DeBoard and his wife Edwina of East Patchogue, and Sandra DeBoard Vorpahl of East Hampton; sisters-in-law, Dorothy of North Carolina and Cheryl of Illinois; his best friends, Pat and Sidney Bye; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins and many friends. He was predeceased by his brothers, Sammy and Billy DeBoard.
Visitation was held Friday, June 17, at Yardley & Pino Funeral Home in East Hampton. A memorial service took place on Saturday, June 18, at Calvary Baptist Church. Interment followed at Cedar Lawn Cemetery, also in East Hampton.
