Victor Gutierrez Nunez, 46, was charged with DWI as a felony Sunday night by the East Hampton Town Police. Police said that Gutierrez Nunez was found sleeping behind the wheel of a 2011 Toyota pickup truck, keys in the ignition and engine running, in a parking lot off North Main Street. He appeared intoxicated, police reported and failed roadside sobriety tests, leading to his arrest. The charge of DWI was at the felony level because of a previous DWI conviction. Rene Patricio Yanza Garcia, 24, a resident of the North Sea area of Southampton, was charged by East Hampton Village Police with misdemeanor DWI a little after midnight on Sunday following a traffic stop on Montauk Highway near Danie’s Hole Road. Police said the stop was made because Yanza Garcia, driving west in a 2023 Honda Civic, was driving 70 mph where the limit is 40. Cesar A. Martinez, 65, of Springs was charged with misdemeanor DWI after an accident that occurred on Three Mile Harbor Hog Creek Road near Fort Pond Boulevard the afternoon of March 5. Police said Martinez lost control of the 2000 Jeep he was driving, going off road and crashing into a utility pole.
