Jean C. Ruiz Guaman, 22, of Hampton Bays, was arrested by East Hampton Town Police on a misdemeanor DWI charge a little before midnight on November 4. For Ruiz Guaman, it is the third time he has been charged with misdemeanor DWI in a little more than a year. He already has an open charge of misdemeanor DWI in East Hampton Town Justice Court, stemming from an arrest last year, as well as an open case of misdemeanor DWI charged by Southampton Town Police in March of this year. Steven Michael Sesto, 41, of Islip was arrested and charged with felony DWI by East Hampton Village Police a little after midnight on October 22. A DWI charge rises from a misdemeanor to a felony when the defendant has a prior conviction of DWI within the past 10 years. Sesto was also charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the second-degree, a misdemeanor. Scott J. McGinniss, 36, of East Hampton, was charged by East Hampton Town Police with misdemeanor DWI the evening of October 9 after crashing into a telephone pole on Route 114 near Montauk Boulevard, according to police. McGinniss was driving a 2021 Chevrolet pickup truck when he lost control of his vehicle, crashing into the pole. McGinniss appeared intoxicated to the first officer who arrived on the scene, and failed sobriety tests, according to the arrest report.
