Carlos Rodrigo Vaca Vera, 37, of East Hampton was charged by East Hampton Village Police early Sunday morning with aggravated DWI with a child passenger, which is a felony under Leandra’s Law. Police said Vaca Vera was driving a 2005 Mercury Marquis on Woods Lane erratically and failed to signal a turn onto Toilsome Lane leading to a traffic stop and eventually his arrest. Vaca Vera appeared intoxicated, the arresting officer reported, and failed roadside sobriety tests. Jean C. Ruiz Guaman, 22, of Hampton Bays, was arrested by East Hampton Town Police on a misdemeanor DWI charge a little before midnight on November 4. For Ruiz Guaman, it is the third time he has been charged with misdemeanor DWI in a little more than a year. He already has an open charge of misdemeanor DWI in East Hampton Town Justice Court, stemming from an arrest last year, as well as an open case of misdemeanor DWI charged by Southampton Town Police in March of this year. Francisco E. Chacho Corte, 41, of Springs was arrested by East Hampton Town Police at around 9 on Sunday morning and charged with misdemeanor aggravated DWI. Police said Chacho Corte was driving north on Springs Fireplace Road in an erratic manner, forcing other drivers to pull off the road, leading to a traffic stop. The arresting officer reported that Chacho Corte appeared intoxicated and failed roadside sobriety tests, leading to his arrest.
