Mia K. Berg, 39, of Springs was charged with misdemeanor DWI by the East Hampton Town Police on the evening of September 3. Police said they found Berg behind the wheel of a 2008 Honda, asleep, key in the ignition and engine running. According to the police, Berg had passed out while in the parking area around Brent’s delicatessen in Amagansett. The criminal complaint against her states that her car had slowly rolled into a curb where it came to a stop. Francisco Clemente Tellez, 42, of Montauk was arrested for the second time in a year on misdemeanor DWI charges by East Hampton Town Police early on August 21. Clemente Tellez was pulled over on Montauk Highway near Old Montauk Highway in Montauk for swerving across lane lines, into the oncoming lane of traffic, police said. He appeared intoxicated, the arresting officer reported, and failed roadside sobriety tests, leading to his arrest. The arrest greatly complicates Clemente Tellez’s legal situation. Christian H. Habberstad, 29, a resident of Haliewa, Hawaii, who told the court during his Saturday morning arraignment that he is spending an extended summer season in Northport, was charged by East Hampton Town Police with misdemeanor DWI early Saturday morning. Police were responding to a report that came in at 4:34 a.m. of a 2018 Ford pickup truck that had been driven away from the parking lot at the 7-Eleven in downtown Montauk without the owner’s permission. Luis A. Aguilar, 26, of Springs was arrested by East Hampton Town Police early Saturday morning, charged with felony DWI. According to police, Aguilar was pulled over on Windmill Lane in Amagansett for swerving across lane lines while driving a 2016 Ram pickup truck. The charge against Aguilar is a felony because he was convicted just last year of misdemeanor DWI in East Hampton Town Justice Court after being arrested in 2022. Steven Matthew Vanderlofske, 58, of East Islip was arrested on a misdemeanor aggravated DWI charge by East Hampton Village Police the night of July 31. Police pulled over the 2005 GMC Yukon they said Vanderlofske was driving on Montauk Highway near Stephen Hands Path while swerving onto the shoulder of the road multiple times, causing the arresting officer to pull him over.
